CCSR (Center for Climate System Research,Univ. of Tokyo, see www.ccsr.u-tokyo.ac.jp ) are now preparing the workshop in the next March from 04,March-08,March,2002 .Meeting location is "Awaji Yumebutai" which is located on the Awaji island (for details, please refer to www.yumebutai.co.jp ).
The objectives of our workshop are (1) to discuss physical processes suitable for the next-generation model,(2)to discuss a dynamical core and computational methods for the next-generation model and (3) to discuss analysis method for the next-generation model.
Within the workshop, we will have one day session of "quasi-uniform grids on sphere" during the workshop which was originally proposed by Profs.D.Randall and T.Matsuno. Various grid systems will be discussed in the workshop.
Following sessions are now planned;
(1) Improvement of present climate models
(2) Future of the ocean circulation model
(3) Application of the non-hydro static model to the climate issues
(4) Quasi-uniform grids on the sphere
(5) Modelling of other processes in the climate systems.
If you have an interest in this workshop and want to submit a paper, please send a title and an abstract to the following address( sumi@ccsr.u-tokyo.ac.jp or tanigami@ccsr.u-tokyo.ac.jp) by e-mail until January,31,2002. There is no limit for the abstract but one or two pages are recommended.
